Sumac Lamb Chops with Mint Yogurt Recipe

Tender lamb chops marinated in citrusy Basira Sumac, grilled to perfection and served with a cooling mint yogurt - bold yet balanced.

- What Makes It Special?

Sumac is known for its tangy brightness and deep ruby colour. It cuts through the richness of the lamb, adding a zesty lift and Middle Eastern flair.

- Ingredients

  • 4 lamb chops

  • 1 tablespoon Basira Sumac

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • ½ cup Greek yogurt

  • 1 tablespoon chopped mint

  • Squeeze of lemon juice

- Method

  1. Mix olive oil, garlic, Sumac, salt and pepper. Rub onto lamb chops and marinate for 30 mins.

  2. Mix yogurt, mint and lemon juice in a bowl. Set aside.

  3. Grill or pan-fry lamb chops 3–4 minutes each side until done to your liking.

  4. Serve hot with mint yogurt and lemon wedges.

- Tips & Variations

  • Use the same marinade on chicken or halloumi.

  • Serve with couscous or roasted vegetables.
