7 Spice Meatball Tagine Recipe

A comforting North African-style dish with juicy meatballs in a tomato sauce infused with Basira 7 Spice - hearty and full of soul.

- What Makes It Special?

Our 7 Spice blend is a fragrant mix of warming spices used across the Middle East. It turns simple meatballs into something truly special.

- Ingredients

  • 500g beef or lamb mince

  • 1 small onion, grated

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tablespoon Basira 7 Spice

  • 1 egg (optional)

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • 1 tin chopped tomatoes

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • Fresh coriander or parsley to garnish

 - Method

  1. Mix mince, onion, garlic, 7 Spice, egg (if using), salt and pepper. Shape into small balls.

  2. Heat oil in a pan, brown the meatballs on all sides.

  3. Add tomatoes and a splash of water, simmer 15–20 minutes.

  4. Adjust seasoning and garnish with herbs.

  • Add chickpeas or diced courgette to the sauce.

  • Serve with couscous or crusty bread.
